It’s my first time visiting a Coinme kiosk. What should I expect?
In the bottom left corner of the screen you will notice the current exchange rate of US Dollars to Bitcoin. This figure is updated once every hour. Tap on the ‘Start’ button to begin.
As per our KYC Compliance: To interact with one of our kiosks you must possess a regular state issued Identification Card, Learners Permit, or Driver License. It can be from any of the 50 states. Passports or other forms of ID cannot be read by the scanner.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSERT PAPER OR A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD INTO THE READER. IT WILL JAM.
Insert your card with the bar-code facing down. The kiosk will scan your ID and then eject it.
This is the first time you have used our kiosk so our systems will recognize that you do not yet have a Coinme account. The webcam on the kiosk will turn on and you will see yourself on the screen. Hold your ID next to your face and tap on the screen to take a picture as instructed.
Next you will be asked to ‘Insert bills to purchase bitcoin’. Your USD (United States Dollar) will be exchanged into BTC (Bitcoin) and deposited into your newly created Coinme wallet.
When you are finished inserting bills, tap on ‘Send Bitcoins’ to complete your transaction.
Since this is your first time using the kiosk, two receipts should print. One will be the bill of sale, keep this for your records. The second will be a temporary password. Every subsequent use of the kiosk only a receipt will be printed. If the machine does not provide you a temporary password, simply email email@example.com for assistance. Usually the purchased funds are in your new Coinme wallet within 30 minutes however, there can be delays.
To access your new Coinme wallet follow these steps below:
Navigate to: https://www.coinmewallet.com
Enter in the email address you would like to use to access your account
Enter in the identification or driver license number you used at the machine
Enter in the temporary password from the receipt. You will be asked to make a new one and you will use it to access your account from here on out.
Once those steps are complete you will be taken into your account where you can send or receive Bitcoin.
